Custody transfer metering systems for gases
Metering solution for natural gas
- Based on ultrasonic, Coriolis, turbine or DP flowmeters
- From initial design phase up to on-site commissioning and training
- Comprising flow metering skid, metering control cabinets, sampling and analyser systems, and all supervisory and validation software
KROHNE custody transfer metering systems are used throughout the entire natural gas value chain, from the high pressure production of (wet) gas, throughout refining operations, and in city gates that deliver natural gas to local gas grids or big consumers like power plants. KROHNE has vast experience in custody transfer metering systems, Underground Gas Storage (UGS) measurement stations and natural gas metering, before and during LNG liquefaction and regasification.
KROHNE takes full project responsibility for the metering systems, including metering skids with instrumentation, gas chromatographs and analysers, flow measurement computers, metering control cabinets and all supervisory and validation software. KROHNE metering systems are often designed as a master-duty configuration, where a Z-cross over allows periodical verification of the duty meters against the master meter. Also two ultrasonic flowmeters in series using a different path lay-out are common in gas systems, to provide a continuous cross-check between the two flow measurements. In both cases the diagnostic features of the flowmeters are used to guarantee maximum performance and lowest measurement uncertainty.
With instrumentation and custody transfer metering systems designed from the same source, customers can rely on seamless integration of all components. KROHNE is established in the Oil & Gas industry since 1921 and has a local presence in over 100 countries to provide on-going support.
