Tankers come in all sizes, from the smaller product tankers to the giant ULCC tankers. Regardless of size and number of tanks, tankers are mobile structures where crew and operators need to have access to reliable data from the sensors and systems on board. Cargo monitoring systems (CMS) provide alarm monitoring and data readings for liquid levels, pressures and temperatures. For ship stability and load compensation, monitoring the drafts and level in all cargo and ballast tanks is vital.

The KROHNE cargo monitoring system CARGOMASTER® is designed for all tank monitoring, alarm and liquid cargo operations. Close to 1000 vessels, from the smallest product tankers to the most complex chemical tankers and large VLCCs have already installed CARGOMASTER® systems. The system includes the well-established KROHNE radar marine tank level transmitters for tank level and ullage measurement, and includes other tank instrumentation and high level alarms.

KROHNE EcoMATE™ electronic fuel management system and Coriolis mass flowmeters enables the crew and ship owner to keep track of and report on fuel consumption and corresponding emissions, in accordance with the new regulations from the European Union and the International Maritime Organization (IMO). EcoMATE™ also allows separate monitoring of loading and offloading operations, including any bunkering transactions.

KROHNE also manufacture a wide range of electromagnetic flowmeters suitable for other flow instrumentation on board, such as in ballast water treatment systems, exhaust gas cleaners (scrubbers) water/oil separators or fresh water production systems.
